Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti 2020.

Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti is a religious festival which commemorates the birthday of Guru Gobind Singh (Born – Gobind Rai), who was the son of Guru Tegh Bahadur (9th Sikh Guru). He was born on 22 December, 1666 in Patna (Bihar) and became a Guru at the age of 9. His birthday is celebrated in accordance with Nanakshahi Calendar. Nanakshahi Calendar is a calendar used in sikhism and hence, the annual celebration date of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti is changed every year, sometimes it falls in Dcember, sometimes in January.
In 2020, Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti falls on 2nd January. On this occasion, the devotees pray in the Gurudwaras, attend recital of religious poems and share sweets with each other. Guru Gobind Singh was a great warrior, leader, philosopher & poet. This festival is celebrated across our country and it holds a great significance for the sikh people.
